I am an artist who has lived and worked in Worthing, West Sussex for many years. My painting career began after semi-retirement, when I suddenly had time to attend some excellent courses at the Greater Brighton Metropolitan College. This experience introduced me to a range of media and techniques and I became influenced by artists such as Chris Forsey and Anne Blockley, whose style is semi-abstract and very expressive with fantastic use of colour.
In my work I try to capture favourite images of places seen whilst on holiday or in our beautiful Sussex. I am always experimenting with acrylics, oils and watercolours to express the effects of light and therefore bring a scene to life. Linocut printing is another recent avenue which I’m really enjoying.
I have exhibited as part of the Worthing Artist’s Open Houses on three occasions and displayed my work in local galleries, at Worthing library and at Arundel Museum. You can see details of exhibitions, past and upcoming, on my exhibitions page.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my paintings.
